I once has apple frozen yogurt from the supermarket and although I had expected it to not be great, the apple and yogurt actually went well together. I created my own kind and it really is a delicious frozen yogurt.
Ingredients:
- 3 apples, preferably a tart cooking variety such as Elstar or Golden Rennets
- 175gr sugar
- 2 tbs water
- 50gr butter, unsalted
- 2 tsp cinnamon
- 500gr Greek yogurt
Makes about a liter
Recipe:
Peel and core the apples. Cut them into pieces and add to a sauce pan with the sugar, water and butter. Cook the apples for 15 minutes, until they have become a pulp. Blend it with an imersion blender.
Combine the yogurt with the cinnamon in a bowl, then add the (warm) apple sauce. Set aside to cool well.
Freeze the mixture in an ice cream machine.
