French Toast (BC)

Simple but delicious, this bread has been dipped in egg and fried. For a more luxureous, sweet version, serve with fruit or a dusting of cinnamon.

Ingredients:

  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbs milk
  • 1 tsp dried parsley
  • salt/pepper
  • 2 tsp butter
  • 2 large slices or 4 small slices of bread

Serves 1 as part of the Budget Challenge

Recipe:

Stir together the egg, milk and parsley in a deep plate and season to taste with salt and pepper.

Melt the butter in a frying pan. Dip the bread, both sides, into the egg mixture, then bake for two minutes on each side, or until the egg has browned and turned a bit crisp.
