Oven Baked Meatballs (BC)

Baking meatballs in the oven takes less added fat while still baking great, brown meatballs with lots of flavour. This method will also allow you extra time for other cooking work, and it will decrease the chances of the meatballs being stirred to mush while turning.

Ingredients:

  • 500gr minced beef
  • 1 small onion
  • 1 large egg
  • salt/pepper
  • pinch of nutmeg
  • 1,5 tbs breadcrumbs
  • 1 tsp paprika powder

Makes approx. 24 meatballs

Recipe:

Finely chop the onion.
Combine the minced beef, onion, egg, salt, pepper, nutmeg, breadcrumbs and paprika powder and knead until combined well. Yes, that says kneading, use your hands!

Roll the mixture into 3cm round balls, approximately a tablespoon each.
Place the balls in an oiled mini muffin tin.

Bake for 25 minutes on 200°C
