This syrup tastes just like Christmas, it is best served on a rainy day, while sitting under a blanket watching a not-too-serious movie. Simply add boiling water, and enjoy.
Ingredients:
- 340gr cranberries
- 6 pears – 1150gr peeled and cored
- 400gr sugar
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 8 cloves
- 2 star anise
- 50gr ginger, sliced
Makes around 2.5 liter
Recipe:
Place all ingredients in a pot. Add 500ml water.
Put a lid on the pot and bring to a boil. Let it simmer for 60 minutes or until all the fruit is very soft.
Push the liquid through a fine sieve.
Heat again and pour into hot, sterilised bottles (I sterilise mine by washing them, rinsing and placing them in a 100°C oven). Keeps for at least 3 months.
