Virgin Gluhwein

I am not a big fan of alcoholic drinks, and even though I tried, wine is one of those drinks I never mastered. This is however exactly how I picture Gluhwein, the German hot spiced wine, but then without alcohol.

Ingredients:

  • 0.5 liter grape juice
  • 0.5 liter cloudy apple juice
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1/2 tsp balsamic vinegar
  • pinch of nutmeg

Serves 4

Recipe:

Combine all the ingredients in a sauce pan. Bring them to the boil, then turn off the heat and leave to stand for 15 minutes. Bring back to the boil, fish out the cinnamon stick and serve hot, preferably with gingerbread.
