A basic flavour combination that goes great with just about any kind of meat and fish, but is also lovely as a spread on bread or as a last minute addition to sauces and even soups.
I prefer the use of pink onions or shallots for this butter.
- 125gr unsalted butter, softened
- pinch of salt
- 1 tbs dried thyme
- 2 tbs finely chopped onion or shallot
Combine all the ingredients well by mashing it all together with a fork. Store it in the refrigerator but serve the butter somewhat softened.
